Android is an operating system for mobile devices such
as smartphones and tablet computers. The most Android devices support the following

What is FLV?
Flash Live Video (FLV) is a popular video format that displays videos at
very high qualities and is designed for web playback. This popular format
is used by many video-sharing websites such as Youtube, Metacafe and Google
video. Flash Video FLV files usually contain material encoded with codecs
following the Sorenson Spark or VP6 video compression formats. One way
to feed data to Flash Media Server is from files in the FLV file format.
Sorenson Spark is an older codec for FLV files but it is also a widely
available and compatible one, because it was the first video codec supported
in Flash Player. The latter F4V file format is based on the ISO base media
file format and is supported starting with Flash Player 9 update 3. Flash
Player does not check the extension of the file, but rather looks inside
the file to detect which format it is. FLV was originally developed by
Macromedia. The new file formats are completely different from the older
FLV file format. Audio in Flash Video files is usually encoded as MP3.
However, audio in Flash Video FLV files recorded from the user's microphone
use the proprietary Nellymoser Asao Codec. (Flash Player 10 released in
2008 also supports the open source Speex codec.) The standards documentation
for BBC Online states that the BBC now preferentially accepts Flash videos
for submission, to the disadvantage of other formats previously in use
on its sites such as RealVideo or WMV. The FLV file extension stands for
"Flash Video," which is a file type by Adobe Systems Incorporated.
It is the required video compression format for Flash Player 6 and 7. For
example, F4V does not support Screen video, Sorenson Spark, VP6 video compression
formats and ADPCM, Nellymoser audio compression formats.
What is Android?
Android, also know as Droid, is an operating system for last generation
mobile phones. The OS has been developed by Google and is currently the
most spread operating system for smartphones in the world. Android also
runs on tablets developed by Google Inc. as well. In December 2011, Greg
Kroah-Hartman announced the start of the Android Mainlining Project, which
aims to put some Android drivers, patches and features back into the Linux
kernel, starting in Linux 3.3. further integration being expected for Linux
Kernel 3.4. Android applications are written in java programming language.
Android is available as open source for developers to develop applications
which can be further used for selling in android market. Different generations
of smart phones have run various versions of Android. Each major software
version is identified by a code name that is usually related to some sort
of dessert. The SDK includes extensive resources and tools to facilitate
this sort of development. It is updated regularly, together with the operating
system itself, and a priority is placed upon supporting work on both newer
and older versions of Android. An Android phone is any smartphone that
runs the Android software platform. Because Android is an open sourced
software platform, multiple manufacturers produce Android phones, including
the likes of HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and LG, just to name
a few. This is unlike the closed platform of competitors like Apple, which
builds both the software and hardware of its iPhone, and Research in Motion
(RIM) -- manufacturer of BlackBerry smartphones -- which does the same.
Android devices are already smart, and will only get smarter, with new
features you won't find on any other platform, letting you focus on what's
important and putting you in control of your mobile experience.
