Convert H264 to MOV/QuickTime
|
H264 to MOV Converter Software converts H264 files to MOV
with H.264 or MPEG-4 video codecs. The MOV is QuickTime File Format (QTFF) used
natively by the QuickTime application. The MOV is very common on Mac OS like WMV
on Windows. It's a great tool for converting format when transferring file to
Mac OS. The H264 to MOV Converter Software also supports other video, audio,
and device formats, for example, 3G2, WAV, Windows Phone, M4B (MPEG-4 audiobook), WMA, MP2, WMV, etc.
The software could convert OGG to BMP image sequence, MPEG to FLAC, DAT to MKA, DVD to FLAC, VOB to H.264,
and so on.
H264 to MOV Converter Software supports batch conversion and, is compatible
with Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000 (both x86 and 64-bit platforms).
What is H264?
H.264 is a codec used to create MP4 files. Its wide compatibility and range
of features has made it a popular encoder for videos. It is thus common
to refer to the standard with names such as H.264/AVC, AVC/H.264, H.264/MPEG-4
AVC, or MPEG-4/H.264 AVC, to emphasize the common heritage. Main Profile
(MP): This profile is used for standard-definition digital TV broadcasts
that use the MPEG-4 format as defined in the DVB standard. It is not, however,
used for high-definition television broadcasts, as the importance of this
profile faded when the High Profile was developed in 2004 for that application.
Compression efficiency depends on video algorithmic implementations, not
on whether hardware or software implementation is used. For example, a
level of support within a profile will specify the maximum picture resolution,
frame rate, and bit rate that a decoder may be capable of using. Canon
DSLRs use the H.264 QuickTime MOV as the native recording. The JVT was
(is) chaired by Gary Sullivan, Thomas Wiegand, and Ajay Luthra (Motorola,
USA). A decoder that conforms to a given level is required to be capable
of decoding all bitstreams that are encoded for that level and for all
lower levels. From January 2005 to November 2007, the JVT was working on
an extension of H.264/AVC towards scalability by an Annex (G) called Scalable
Video Coding (SVC). Apple has official adopted H.264 as the format for
QuickTime. In early 1998, the Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG - ITU-T
SG16 Q.6) issued a call for proposals on a project called H.26L, with the
target to double the coding efficiency (which means halving the bit rate
necessary for a given level of fidelity) in comparison to any other existing
video coding standards for a broad variety of applications.
What is MOV?
MOV is a file extension used by the QuickTime-wrapped files. The format
was created by Apple Computer to work with multimedia files. Software development
kits (SDKs) for QuickTime are available to the public with an Apple Developer
Connection (ADC) subscription. MOV files are played on a QuickTime Video
player. QuickTime player is a free media player developed by Apple and
is available for Windows and Mac OS X systems. This easy-to-use player
allows you to play your MOV files of different sizes and aspect ratios
at high resolutions. Watch your standard or high-definition MOV files in
the best way possible. QuickTime was developed by Apple for use as a standard
media application for the Mac operating system. These files will also play
on video iPods, such as the iPod Touch. With additional QuickTime Components,
it can also support ASF, DivX Media Format, Flash Video, Matroska, Ogg,
and many others. QuickTime enables file compression by modifying video,
effects and audio settings. The codec initially was developed by use in
Apple's QuickTime player. The .mov file format is a common video file used
by both Mac and PC computers. The advantage of MOV files is the ability
to contain abstract data references for the media data. That means that
they can be easily edited - no need to rewrite all media data after editing.
As a multimedia stardand, QuickTime is not purely linear. It could contain
interactivity and causes problems when converting to other video formats.
A lot of digital cameras record video in QuickTime support. A .mov video
file is in the default format for all Mac computers. A file that has a
.mov extension means that it is in the QuickTime file format.
