Convert MP4 to WebM
|
Total Video Audio Converter converts MP4 files to WebM easily. The
software is a professional MP4 to WebM Converter. You could
customize video size, frame rate, and bit rate with the converter so that the output
file size is controllable. Besides WebM, the converter converts MP4 files
to OGG/OGM/OGV and H.264 that are HTML5 video formats either. Then, you can
easily add your video to your
website using HTML5.
The software is also an all-in-one video converter that converts any formats
to popular video formats such as 3GP, CAF (Core Audio Format), MP3, Windows Phone, M4A (MPEG-4 audio), 3G2, OGM, etc. It could convert 3G2 to Windows Phone, OGG to 3G2, DAT to WMV, H264 to M4A (MPEG-4 audio), MPEG to SWF,
and so on.
Total Video Audio Converter supports batch conversion and, is full compatible
with 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000.
What is MP4?
Movie or video clip that uses MPEG-4 compression, a standard developed
by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG); commonly used for sharing video
files on the Internet. MPEG-4 is still a developing standard and is divided
into a number of parts. If an existing specification already covers how
a particular media type is stored in the file format (e.g. MPEG-4 audio
or video in MP4), that definition should be used and a new one should not
be invented. Some of these extensions are also used by other formats based
on ISO base media file format (e.g. 3GP). When someone is creating a new
specification derived from the ISO Base Media File Format, all the existing
specifications should be used both as examples and a source of definitions
and technology. A separate hint track is used to include streaming information
in the file. The registration authority for code-points (identifier values)
in "MP4 Family" files is Apple Computer Inc. and it is named
in Annex D (informative) in MPEG-4 Part 12. The MPEG-4 video format uses
separate compression for audio and video tracks. Video is compressed with
MPEG-4 video encoding. Audio is compressed using AAC compression, the same
type of audio compression used in .AAC files. MPEG-4 is most commonly used
to store digital video and digital audio streams, especially those defined
by MPEG, but can also be used to store other data such as subtitles and
still images. MP4 files are files that support both video and audio and
are primarily used as a file format to stream over the Internet. MPEG-4
contains patented technologies which use requires licensing in countries
that acknowledge software algorithm patents. Patents covering MPEG-4 are
claimed by over two dozen companies. The MPEG Licensing Authority licenses
patents required for MPEG-4 Part 2 Visual from a wide range of companies
(audio is licensed separately) and lists all of its licensors and licensees
on the site. New licenses for MPEG-4 System patents are under development
and no new licenses are being offered while holders of its old MPEG-4 Systems
license are still covered under the terms of that license for the patents
listed.
What is WebM?
WebM is an audio-video format designed to provide royalty-free, open video
compression for use with HTML5 video. The project's development is sponsored
by Google Inc. A WebM file consists of VP8 video and Vorbis audio streams,
in a container based on a profile of Matroska. Adobe Systems announced
that its Flash Player will be updated to support WebM, but no exact date
was specified for its addition. VP8 is a highly efficient video compression
technology that was developed by On2 Technologies. Google acquired On2
in February, 2010. For more information, see the -VP8 Video Codec"
section below. Although Google has irrevocably released all of its patents
on VP8 as a royalty-free format, the MPEG LA, licensors of the H.264 patent
pool, have expressed interest in creating a patent pool for VP8. Conversely,
other researchers cite evidence that On2 made a particular effort to avoid
any MPEG LA patents. As a result of the MPEG-LA threat the United States
Department of Justice (DOJ) has started an investigation into the MPEG
LA for its role in possibly attempting to stifle competition. NVIDIA has
stated that they support VP8 adoption, but they have no specific plans
to provide hardware support. Google acquired ON2, the original developer
of VP8 technology. VP8 is now an open and free technology. Also ST-Ericsson
and Huawei have hardware implementations in their computer chips. Sorenson
Media's online encoding platform now supports VP8 and WebM. The Free Software
Foundation, which maintains the Free Software Definition, has given its
endorsement for WebM and VP8 and considers the software's license to be
compatible with the GNU General Public License.
