Convert 3G2 to MKV
|
3G2 to MKV Converter Software converts 3G2 files to MKV. The converter
supports popular codecs for MKV file such as H.264, MPEG-4, Xvid, AAC, AC-3, MP2,
MP3, and Vorbis. The software could calculate bit rate for video according to
video size automatically.
The converter supports common media formats such as OGG, H.264, PPM image sequence, SPX (Speex), MPA, CAF (Core Audio Format), 3G2, etc. It
could convert MOD to MKA, M4V to WebM (VP8), 3G2 to SWF, MPEG to OGM, 3G2 to AMR, and so on. In other words, the software is an ideal format
Converter Software for common uses.
3G2 to MKV Converter Software supports batch conversion and, is full compatible
with Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000.
What is 3G2?
Audio/video format developed by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project
2 (3GPP2); designed for transmitting multimedia files over the Internet;
basically an updated version of the .3GP format used by cell phones for
saving video files. The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3G/3GPP) is
a collaboration agreement that was established in December 1998. In general,
if a cell phone record a 3g2 video, it should conform to the 3G2 standard.
3GPP2 was born out of the International Telecommunication Union's (ITU)
International Mobile Telecommunications "IMT-2000" initiative,
covering high speed, broadband, and Internet Protocol (IP)-based mobile
systems featuring network-to-network interconnection, feature/service transparency,
global roaming and seamless services independent of location. IMT-2000
is intended to bring high-quality mobile multimedia telecommunications
to a worldwide mass market by achieving the goals of increasing the speed
and ease of wireless communications, responding to the problems faced by
the increased demand to pass data via telecommunications, and providing
"anytime, anywhere" services. For the storage of MPEG-4 media
(MPEG-4 Part 2, MPEG-4 Part 3 - AAC, MPEG-4 Part 10 - H.264/AVC) in 3G2
files, the 3G2 specification refers to the MP4 file format and the AVC
file format specification, which described usage of this content in the
ISO base media file format. Once you move a video from cell phone to your
PC, the easiest way to play it is to use Apple's QuickTime Player. However,
a cell phone may not has the ability to play all variety of 3G2 videos
due to limited codec support on the cell. Thus, it is easy to convert a
cell phone 3G2 to a video format playable on a computer, but it is not
so easy to convert a PC video to a 3G2 which is compatible with your particular
brand of cell phone.
What is MKV?
Matroska video files have the ".mkv" file extension, causing
them to sometimes be referred to as MKV files. In 2010, it was announced
that the WebM audio/video format would be based on a profile of the Matroska
container format together with VP8 video and Vorbis audio. Matroska aims
to become THE standard of multimedia container formats. MKV is an envelope
for which there can be many audio, video and subtitles streams, allowing
the user to store a complete movie or CD in a single file. In addition
to that, there are also free parsing and playback libraries available under
the BSD license, for commercial software and Hardware adoption. This is
a play on the container (media within a form of media/doll within a doll)
aspect of the matryoshka as it is a container for visual and audio data.
This coincided with a long coding break by the MCF's lead developer, during
which most of the community quickly migrated to the new project. Matroska
file extensions are .MKV for video (with subtitles and audio), .MK3D for
stereoscopic video, .MKA for audio-only files, and .MKS for subtitles only.
The aim of developing Matroska was to provide a flexible and cross-platform
alternative to AVI, ASF, MP4, MPG, MOV, and RM. Matroska is similar in
concept to other containers like AVI, MP4, or Advanced Systems Format (ASF),
but is entirely open in specification, with implementations consisting
mostly of open source software. Files are store in .MKV file extensions.
Matroska is an open standards project. This means for personal use it is
absolutely free to use and that the technical specifications describing
the bitstream are open to everybody, even to companies that would like
to support it in their products.
