3GP to MOV Converter Software converts 3GP files to MOV
with H.264 or MPEG-4 video codecs. The MOV is QuickTime File Format (QTFF) used
natively by the QuickTime application. The MOV is very common on Mac OS like WMV
on Windows. It's a great tool for converting format when transferring file to
Mac OS. The 3GP to MOV Converter Software also supports other video, audio,
and device formats, for example, AU, MPA, AMR, SWF, VOC, OGG, AAC, etc.
The software could convert VOB to M4V, H264 to PPM image sequence, MOD to FLV, OGV to FLAC, OGV to OGM,
and so on.
3GP to MOV Converter Software supports batch conversion and, is compatible
with Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000 (both x86 and 64-bit platforms).
What is 3GP?
3GP is container formats similar to MPEG-4 Part 14 (MP4), which is also
based on MPEG-4 Part 12. The 3GP file type is primarily associated with
'3GPP'. The Nintendo DSi supports .3gp on an SD card. It also contains
descriptions of image sizes and bitrate. The MP4 and the AVC file format
specifications described usage of MPEG-4 content in the ISO base media
file format. Some cell phones use the .mp4 extension for 3GP video. The
3GP file format was designed to decrease storage and bandwidth requirements
in order to accommodate mobile phones. 3GPP is the new worldwide standards
for the creation, delivery and playback of multimedia over 3rd generation,
high-speed wireless networks. 3GPP allowed use of AMR and H.263 codecs
in the ISO base media file format (MPEG-4 Part 12), because 3GPP specified
the usage of the Sample Entry and template fields in the ISO base media
file format as well as defining new boxes to which codecs refer. Designed
as a multimedia format for transmitting audio and video files between 3G
cell phones and over the Internet; commonly used by mobile phones that
support video capture. These extensions were registered by the registration
authority for code-points in ISO base media file format ("MP4 Family"
files). It stores video streams as MPEG-4 Part 2 or H.263 or MPEG-4 Part
10 (AVC/H.264), and audio streams as AMR-NB, AMR-WB, AMR-WB+, AAC-LC or
HE-AAC. Most 3G capable mobile phones support the playback and recording
of video in 3GP format (memory, maximum filesize for playback and recording,
and resolution limits exist and vary). 3GPP file format was designed for
GSM-based Phones and may have the filename extension ".3gp".
What is MOV?
MOV is a file extension used by the QuickTime-wrapped files. The format
was created by Apple Computer to work with multimedia files. The multimedia
container files store audio, video, text and more for specific use with
the Mac operating system. Tracks are maintained in a hierarchical data
structure consisting of objects called atoms. An atom can be a parent to
other atoms or it can contain media or edit data, but it cannot do both.
QuickTime is an extensible multimedia framework developed by Apple Inc.,
capable of handling various formats of digital video, picture, sound, panoramic
images, and interactivity. Although this file is created and designed by
Apple, the video format has become popular enough that both systems accept
.mov content (otherwise, a majority of the video files downloaded form
the Internet become unusable on Windows-based systems). A .mov video file
is in the default format for all Mac computers. MOV files, or QuickTime
Movies, are digital videos stored in the codec developed by Apple Computers.
MOV files are played on a QuickTime Video player. QuickTime player is a
free media player developed by Apple and is available for Windows and Mac
OS X systems. This easy-to-use player allows you to play your MOV files
of different sizes and aspect ratios at high resolutions. Watch your standard
or high-definition MOV files in the best way possible. Of course, compressing
a MOV file can help save storage space and make it easier to download and
distribute the video file. Open and view the .mov file using the default
media player installed on your system. It is a proprietary format, but
playable on both Apple and Windows-based computers. Apple provides a version
of QuickTime for free (and is automatically installed with the latest versions
of iTunes) that can easily handle the MOV video files.
