Convert MP4 to JPG/JPEG Sequence
|
JPG/JPEG is a commonly used method of lossy compression
for digital photography (image). The degree of compression can be adjusted, allowing
a selectable tradeoff between storage size and image quality. JPEG typically achieves
10:1 compression with little perceptible loss in image quality.
MP4 to JPG/JPEG Converter Software converts MP4 to JPG/JPEG
sequence files. So, you could get every frame image of MP4 in
JPG/JPEG format. You can also set output frame rate and JPG/JPEG resolution in
the software. The output JPG/JPEG files look something like the following screen
shot.
The software also supports other formats and portable devices such as Android Phone, AAC, M4B (MPEG-4 audiobook), SPX (Speex), 3G2, Windows Phone, 3GP,
etc. The software could convert WebM to MMF, DVR-MS to WMV, OGG to AC3, MPEG to FLAC, FLV to WMV, and so on.
MP4 to JPG/JPEG Software supports batch conversion and, is compatible
with Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000.
What is MP4?
MPEG-4 Part 14 or MP4 (formally ISO/IEC 14496-14:2003) is a multimedia
container format standard specified as a part of MPEG-4. MPEG-4 allows
each streaming over the internet, multiplexing of multiple video and audio
streams in one file, variable frame- and bit-rates, subtitles and still
images. A separate hint track is used to include streaming information
in the file. The following kinds of data are recommended (for compatibility
reasons) to be embedded in MPEG-4: Video: MPEG-4, MPEG-2 and MPEG-1; Audio:
MPEG-4 AAC, MP3, MP2, MPEG-1 Part 3, MPEG-2 Part 3, CELP (speech),TwinVQ
(very low bitrates), SAOL (midi); Pictures: JPEG, PNG; Subtitles: MPEG-4
Timed Text, and/or xmt/bt text format (means that subtitles have to be
translated into xmt/bt); Systems: Allows animation, interactivity and DVD-like
menus. A codec builder to implement only the subset of the standard needed,
while maintaining interworking with other MPEG-4 devices that implement
the same combination. MPEG-4 is most commonly used to store digital video
and digital audio streams, especially those defined by MPEG, but can also
be used to store other data such as subtitles and still images. If an existing
specification already covers how a particular media type is stored in the
file format (e.g. MPEG-4 audio or video in MP4), that definition should
be used and a new one should not be invented. The MPEG-4 video format uses
separate compression for audio and video tracks. Video is compressed with
MPEG-4 video encoding. Audio is compressed using AAC compression, the same
type of audio compression used in .AAC files. AT&T is trying to sue
companies such as Apple Inc. over alleged MPEG-4 patent infringement. The
terms of Apple's QuickTime 7 license for users describes in paragraph 14
the terms under Apple's existing MPEG-4 System Patent Portfolio license
from MPEGLA.
What is JPG?
JPEG (pronounced "jay-peg") is a standardized image compression
mechanism. JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group, the original
name of the committee that wrote the standard. JPEG compresses either full-color
or grayscale images, and works best with photographs and artwork. For geometric
line drawings, lettering, cartoons, computer screenshots, and other images
with flat color and sharp borders, the PNG and GIF image formats are usually
preferable. A number of alterations to a JPEG image can be performed losslessly
(that is, without recompression and the associated quality loss) as long
as the image size is a multiple of 1 MCU block (Minimum Coded Unit) (usually
16 pixels in both directions, for 4:2:0 chroma subsampling). Utilities
that implement this include jpegtran, with user interface Jpegcrop, and
the JPG_TRANSFORM plugin to IrfanView. Together with the Graphic Interchange
Format (GIF) and Portable Network Graphics (PNG) file formats, the JPEG
is one of the image file formats supported on the World Wide Web, usually
with the file suffix of ".jpg". You can create a progressive
JPEG that is similar to an interlaced GIF. JPEG does not support transparency
and animation, and is not suitable for rough drafts, line drawings, screen
captures and other image types which use sharply-defined lines and colored
regions. The reason is that the compression method of JPEG may distort
such images. JPEG also has an interlaced format, the "Progressive
JPEG". However, Progressive JPEGs are not widely supported. The file
format known as "JPEG Interchange Format" (JIF) is specified
in Annex B of the standard. However, this "pure" file format
is rarely used, primarily because of the difficulty of programming encoders
and decoders that fully implement all aspects of the standard and because
of certain shortcomings of the standard: Color space definition; Component
sub-sampling registration; Pixel aspect ratio definition.
