Convert MP4 to Android
|
Android is an operating system for mobile devices such
as smartphones and tablet computers. The most Android devices support the following
video codecs: H.263, H.264, and MPEG-4 SP in 3GP or MP4 formats.
MP4 to Android Converter Software converts MP4 to Android compatible
3GP and MP4 easily. The output file is compatible with almost any Android
devices such as Samsung Galaxy, HTC Titan, Motorola Droid, and so
on. And, the file is playable by Android built-in media player without any extra
applications.
The software also supports other formats and portable devices such as OGM, VOC, M4B (MPEG-4 audiobook), H.264, 3GP, Windows Phone, OGG Vorbis,
etc. The software could convert WMV to MKV, MOD to M4V, H264 to M4V, AVI to FLV, DVR-MS to 3G2, and so on. MP4 to Android Software
supports batch conversion and, is compatible with Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000.
What is MP4?
Movie or video clip that uses MPEG-4 compression, a standard developed
by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG); commonly used for sharing video
files on the Internet. iTunes and Quicktime both use mp4 video compression.
A separate hint track is used to include streaming information in the file.
MPEG-4 is a patented collection of methods defining compression of audio
and visual (AV) digital data. It was introduced in late 1998 and designated
a standard for a group of audio and video coding formats and related technology
agreed upon by the ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) (ISO/IEC
JTC1/SC29/WG11) under the formal standard ISO/IEC 14496 - Coding of audio-visual
objects. The only official filename extension for MPEG-4 Part 14 files
is .mp4. MPEG-4 Part 14 is an instance of more general ISO/IEC 14496-12:2004
(MPEG-4 Part 12: ISO base media file format) which is directly based upon
QuickTime File Format. The start point design of the *.mp4 file format
was Apple's QuickTime file format. Having been improved in many ways, today
MPEG-4 differs markedly from its predecessor. MPEG-4 enables different
software and hardware developers to create multimedia objects possessing
better abilities of adaptability and flexibility to improve the quality
of such services and technologies as digital television, animation graphics,
the World Wide Web and their extensions. Some of these extensions are also
used by other formats based on ISO base media file format (e.g. 3GP). A
video compression standard planned for late 1998. MPEG-4 extends the earlier
MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 algorithms with synthesis of speech and video, fractal
compression, computer visualisation and artificial intelligence-based image
processing techniques.
What is Android?
Android was originally a Linux based operating system developed by Android
Inc. The Android operating system is open source, unlike Apple's secretive
code, Google has chosen to give away most of the code that powers Android.
Because the code is free to developers and manufacturers, it is very attractive
to device manufacturers who prefer to spend their resources on manufacturing
high quality devices instead of reinventing the wheel by creating a proprietary
operating systems. The purchase of Android by Google happened six years
ago, in 2005, and the first time it was distributed was in November 2007.
The unveiling was announced with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance,
which is a consortium of 80 IT companies working for mobile phones improvements.
Most of the code for Android was released by Google under the Apache License,
which makes Android licensed as free software. The OS is based on the Linux
kernel and is written with middleware, libraries and APIs in C language,
and includes Java-compatible libraries as well. Like the other very popular
OS on the market, Apple's iOS, Android has a large database of third-party
applications developed by independent programmers or companies, most of
them written in Java. Community releases often come pre-rooted and contain
modifications unsuitable for non-technical users, such as the ability to
overclock or over/undervolt the device's processor. The Android phone works
with an Android operating system, basic applications, and middleware. Linux
is the kernel-based, and written in the language C. Android and manages
applications that are written primarily in the Java language. There are
around 200000 applications developed for android with over 3 billion+ downloads.
Android relies on Linux version 2.6 for core system services such as security,
memory management, process management, network stack, and driver model.
For software development, Android provides Android SDK (Software development
kit).
How to Convert MP4 to Android?
- Free Download MP4 to Android
Converter Software
- Install the Program by Step-by-step Instructions
- Launch MP4 to Android Software
- Choose MP4 Files
Click "Add Files" to choose MP4 files.
Choose one or more MP4 files you want to convert and then click Open.
MP4 to Android Software will open MP4 files and get file information
of the file such as width, height, frame rate, video bit rate, audio sample rate,
audio bit rate, audio channels, and then display the information of MP4 file
at conversion list.
- Choose Output Format
There're two formats for Android device: 3GP and MP4. You can choose either one
format. Click on combo-box of output format and then choose "to Android
3GP" or "to Android MP4".
- [Optional, for advanced user]
Set Android Encoding Parameters
If you want to change Android encoding parameters such as video codec, bit rate,
frame rate, video size, aspect ratio, audio codec, and so on, please click "Options".
And then, switch to tab "Video & Audio" and choose "Android
3GP" or "Android MP4" at "Output Format",
and then set options for video and audio encoding.
The Android supports H.263 (3GP), H.264, and MPEG-4 SP codecs for video. Video
size depends on your Android device capacity. The bit rate depends on video size.
The bigger video size is, the bigger bit rate is. For example, 448 or 512 kbps
is good enough for 480x320.
- Convert MP4 to Android
Click "Convert" to convert all MP4 files in list to Android
3GP or Android MP4 format.
The software is converting MP4 files to Android.
- Play and Browse Android Video File
When conversion completes, you can right-click converted item and choose "Play
Destination" to play the outputted Android video file; or choose "Browse
Destination Folder" to open Windows Explorer to browse the outputted Android
video file.
- Done
