Convert MOV to BMP Sequence
|
The BMP file format, also known as bitmap image file or
Device Independent Bitmap (DIB) file format or simply a bitmap, is a raster graphics
image file format used to store bitmap digital images, independently of the display
device (such as a graphics adapter), especially on Microsoft Windows and OS/2
operating systems. The BMP is stored uncompressed; so it's a lossless image format,
but file size is very big.
MOV to BMP Converter Software converts MOV to BMP sequence files.
With the software, you could get every frame image of MOV in BMP format. The
converter software also supports other output image formats such as JPG,
PNG, and TIFF. You can convert only a part of MOV to BMP instead of the entire
file. And you can set how many frames per second to be extracted with the software.
The output BMP files look something like this.
The software also supports other formats and portable devices such as SPX (Speex), PPM image sequence, 3G2, iPhone, MPA, SWF, TIFF image sequence,
etc. The software could convert H263 to MOV, FLV to SPX (Speex), H263 to Android Phone, OGV to 3G2, M2TS to 3GP, and so on.
MOV to BMP Software supports batch conversion and, is compatible
with Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000.
What is MOV?
MOV is a file extension used by the QuickTime-wrapped files. The format
was created by Apple Computer to work with multimedia files. The classic
version of QuickTime is available for Windows XP and later, as well as
Mac OS X Leopard and later operating systems. Software development kits
(SDKs) for QuickTime are available to the public with an Apple Developer
Connection (ADC) subscription. QuickTime movie files, which have the file
extension .mov, are among the primary video files that work with Apple's
iMovie. The iMovie video-editing software comes standard with Apple computers.
Importing a movie file into the application and editing it by cutting,
pasting and adjusting the audio/video are all simple processes. You can
then take the edited movie and save it in a new file, be it in .mov or
some other format. The regular (and free) version of Quicktime allows you
to play these files from any source--you can play files on your hard drive
or ones embedded into web pages on the Internet. MOV files are used by
Apple Quicktime player, which is a specific video player for Apple. So,
if you have a video on an IPOD type device that ends in ".mov",
or if you have such a file on your computer, it may not be compatible with
other types of players, especially simpler ones. In order to use a MOV
file in a player that needs a more compatible format such as MPEG, you
must do a conversion. In order to play any .mov file, you must have QuickTime
installed on your computer. If you are using a Mac computer, you may already
have the application. If you would like to play the .mov file on your Window
Media Player application, you must download the QuickTime Alternative application.
What is BMP?
Bitmaps are basic image files that are commonly used on the Internet. They
are composed of dozens of small, colored squares known as pixels, which
when seen from a distance appear to form a smooth image. If you zoom in
enough, you can distinguish the individual pixels which compose the picture.
Because of their popularity, bitmaps can be viewed by native software in
both Windows and Macs. This makes opening and viewing them as easy as a
couple of mouse clicks. Indexed color images may be compressed with 4-bit
or 8-bit RLE or Huffman 1D algorithm. OS/2 BITMAPCOREHEADER2 24bpp images
may be compressed with the 24-bit RLE algorithm. The 16bpp and 32bpp images
are always stored uncompressed. Note that images in all color depths can
be stored without compression if so desired. Bitmap file header: this block
of bytes is at the start of the file and is used to identify the file.
A typical application reads this block first to ensure that the file is
actually a BMP file and that it is not damaged. The first two bytes of
the BMP file format are the character 'B' then the character 'M' in 1-byte
ASCII encoding. All of the integer values are stored in little-endian format
(i.e. least-significant byte first). Windows bitmap files are stored in
a device-independent bitmap (DIB) format that allows Windows to display
the bitmap on any type of display device. The term "device independent"
means that the bitmap specifies pixel color in a form independent of the
method used by a display to represent color. The default filename extension
of a Windows DIB file is .BMP. In all cases, the pixel array must begin
at a memory address that is a multiple of 4 bytes. In non-packed DIBs loaded
in memory, the optional color profile data should be located immediately
after the color table and before the gap1 and pixel array.
