3GP to MKV Converter Software converts 3GP files to MKV. The converter
supports popular codecs for MKV file such as H.264, MPEG-4, Xvid, AAC, AC-3, MP2,
MP3, and Vorbis. The software could calculate bit rate for video according to
video size automatically.
The converter supports common media formats such as TIFF image sequence, AC3, CAF (Core Audio Format), 3G2, MP3, AIFF, MPG, etc. It
could convert FLV to SWF, MPEG to VOC, M2TS to CAF (Core Audio Format), 3G2 to Xvid, 3G2 to WMV, and so on. In other words, the software is an ideal format
Converter Software for common uses.
3GP to MKV Converter Software supports batch conversion and, is full compatible
with Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000.
What is 3GP?
Audio and video container format developed by the 3rd Generation Partnership
Project (3GPP). Audio imported from CD onto a PlayStation 3 when it is
set to encode to the MPEG-4 AAC codec will copy onto USB devices in the
3GP format. 3GPP file format was designed for GSM-based Phones and may
have the filename extension ".3gp". 3GPP is the new worldwide
standards for the creation, delivery and playback of multimedia over 3rd
generation, high-speed wireless networks. 3GPP is worldwide standard for
the creation, delivery and playback of multimedia over 3rd generation,
high-speed wireless networks. Designed as a multimedia format for transmitting
audio and video files between 3G cell phones and over the Internet; commonly
used by mobile phones that support video capture. The 3GP file format was
designed to decrease storage and bandwidth requirements in order to accommodate
mobile phones. The MP4 and the AVC file format specifications described
usage of MPEG-4 content in the ISO base media file format. The 3GP file
type is primarily associated with '3GPP'. It also contains descriptions
of image sizes and bitrate. A 3GP file is always big-endian, storing and
transferring the most significant bytes first. The 3GP is used on 3G mobile
phones but can also be played on some 2G and 4G phones. Defined by the
3rd Generation Partnership Project and 3rd Generation Partnership Project
2 respectively, these standards seek to provide uniform delivery of rich
multimedia over newly evolved, broadband mobile networks (3rd generation
networks) to the latest multimedia-enabled wireless devices. The Macintosh
type is: 3GPP. Most 3G capable mobile phones support the playback and recording
of video in 3GP format (memory, maximum filesize for playback and recording,
and resolution limits exist and vary).
What is MKV?
The Matroska Multimedia Container is an open standard free container format,
a file format that can hold an unlimited number of video, audio, picture,
or subtitle tracks in one file. MKV (Matroska) is an open source format
based on EBML (Extensible Binary Meta Language), and includes a greater
number of features than supported by other container formats used in industry.
Matroska aims to become THE standard of multimedia container formats. Unlike
most video formats, where the SRT subtitle file exists independent of the
video file, this file type often contains a subtitle track that must be
extracted if you want to use the subtitles independently. The standard
stores data in a compressed state along with an encoder. In order to play
MKV files, a supporting codec is required. Codec, as a word is an abbreviation
of Coder / Decoder. The video stream located in the MKV file has been "coded"
by the source and now it must be "decoded" by the end user who
wishes to play it. For a media player to read MKV files, the latest codec
pack must first be installed, usually recommended from the Combined Community
Codec Pack. The name "matroska" was derived from the Russian
word "matryoshka," referring to the Russian dolls that contain
many dolls within one doll. There is just one hitch - there is no standalone
hardware player that is capable of playing MKV files. MKV files contain
video and audio streams (may also contain subtitles). The streams are likely
compressed and have been produced with an encoder. In order to play these
streams a codec is required. EBML enables the Matroska Development Team
to gain significant advantages in terms of future format extensibility,
without breaking file support in old parsers.
