Convert 3G2 to MOV/QuickTime
|
3G2 to MOV Converter Software converts 3G2 files to MOV
with H.264 or MPEG-4 video codecs. The MOV is QuickTime File Format (QTFF) used
natively by the QuickTime application. The MOV is very common on Mac OS like WMV
on Windows. It's a great tool for converting format when transferring file to
Mac OS. The 3G2 to MOV Converter Software also supports other video, audio,
and device formats, for example, PNG image sequence, SPX (Speex), 3G2, FLV, VCD, H.264, MKV, etc.
The software could convert VOB to WebM (VP8), FLV to MPG, MPEG to M4V, MPEG to M4B (MPEG-4 audiobook), DAT to WebM (VP8),
and so on.
3G2 to MOV Converter Software supports batch conversion and, is compatible
with Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000 (both x86 and 64-bit platforms).
What is 3G2?
Audio/video format developed by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project
2 (3GPP2); designed for transmitting multimedia files over the Internet;
basically an updated version of the .3GP format used by cell phones for
saving video files. Special types of mobile phones such as these can play
videos downloaded from different sources on the Internet, such as YouTube
or Zango. 3G2 file format does not store Enhanced aacPlus (HE-AAC v2) and
AMR-WB+ audio streams. 3G2 comprises North American and Asian interests
developing global specifications for ANSI/TIA/EIA-41 Cellular Radiotelecommunication
Intersystem Operations network evolution to 3G and global specifications
for the radio transmission technologies (RTTs) supported by ANSI/TIA/EIA-41.
However, a cell phone may not has the ability to play all variety of 3G2
videos due to limited codec support on the cell. Thus, it is easy to convert
a cell phone 3G2 to a video format playable on a computer, but it is not
so easy to convert a PC video to a 3G2 which is compatible with your particular
brand of cell phone. PlayStation 3 can also play 3G files that are downloaded
onto its hard drive. The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3G/3GPP) is
a collaboration agreement that was established in December 1998. In addition,
3G2 stores audio streams as EVRC, EVRC-B, EVRC-WB, 13K (QCELP), SMV or
VMR-WB, which was specified by 3GPP2 for use in ISO base media file format.
The 3G2 file format can store the same video streams and most of the audio
streams used in the 3GP file format. It stands for "Third Generation
Partnership Project" and it is primarily used for 3G mobile phones.
Once you move a video from cell phone to your PC, the easiest way to play
it is to use Apple's QuickTime Player.
What is MOV?
The native file format for QuickTime video, QuickTime File Format, specifies
a multimedia container file that contains one or more tracks, each of which
stores a particular type of data: audio, video, effects, or text (e.g.
for subtitles). The ability to contain abstract data references for the
media data, and the separation of the media data from the media offsets
and the track edit lists means that QuickTime is particularly suited for
editing, as it is capable of importing and editing in place (without data
copying). The regular (and free) version of Quicktime allows you to play
these files from any source--you can play files on your hard drive or ones
embedded into web pages on the Internet. A .mov video file is in the default
format for all Mac computers. If you want to play MOV files on your computer,
you'll have to download Apple's own Quicktime player from its website.
The advantage of MOV files is the ability to contain abstract data references
for the media data. That means that they can be easily edited - no need
to rewrite all media data after editing. However, MOV files can become
very large, as they contain video, audio, text, effects and other information
that make the media engaging. Software development kits (SDKs) for QuickTime
are available to the public with an Apple Developer Connection (ADC) subscription.
Tracks are maintained in a hierarchical data structure consisting of objects
called atoms. An atom can be a parent to other atoms or it can contain
media or edit data, but it cannot do both. QuickTime movie files, which
have the file extension .mov, are among the primary video files that work
with Apple's iMovie. The iMovie video-editing software comes standard with
Apple computers. Importing a movie file into the application and editing
it by cutting, pasting and adjusting the audio/video are all simple processes.
You can then take the edited movie and save it in a new file, be it in
.mov or some other format.
