Convert H264 to Android
|
Android is an operating system for mobile devices such
as smartphones and tablet computers. The most Android devices support the following
video codecs: H.263, H.264, and MPEG-4 SP in 3GP or MP4 formats.
H264 to Android Converter Software converts H264 to Android compatible
3GP and MP4 easily. The output file is compatible with almost any Android
devices such as Samsung Galaxy, HTC Titan, Motorola Droid, and so
on. And, the file is playable by Android built-in media player without any extra
applications.
The software also supports other formats and portable devices such as OGM, FLAC, VOC, SPX (Speex), M4B (MPEG-4 audiobook), 3G2, iPad,
etc. The software could convert RM to MP2, MPEG to DTS, XVID to SWF, FLV to CAF (Core Audio Format), 3GP to SWF, and so on. H264 to Android Software
supports batch conversion and, is compatible with Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000.
What is H264?
H.264 is a codec used to create MP4 files. Its wide compatibility and range
of features has made it a popular encoder for videos. The standardization
of the first version of H.264/AVC was completed in May 2003. Also known
as AVC (Advanced Video Coding, MPEG-4 Part 10), H.264 is actually defined
in an identical pair of standards maintained by different organizations,
together known as the Joint Video Team (JVT). Occasionally, it is also
referred to as "the JVT codec", in reference to the Joint Video
Team (JVT) organization that developed it. AVCHD is a high-definition recording
format designed by Sony and Panasonic that uses H.264 (conforming to H.264
while adding additional application-specific features and constraints).
VCEG was chaired by Gary Sullivan (Microsoft, formerly PictureTel, USA).
The design work on the Fidelity Range Extensions was completed in July
2004, and the drafting work on them was completed in September 2004. The
H.264 standard can be viewed as a "family of standards", the
members of which are the profiles described below. Controversies surrounding
the H.264 video compression standard stem primarily from its use within
the HTML5 Internet standard. The product of this partnership effort is
known as the Joint Video Team (JVT). Several other features were also included
in the Fidelity Range Extensions project, such as adaptive switching between
4*4 and 8*8 integer transforms, encoder-specified perceptual-based quantization
weighting matrices, efficient inter-picture lossless coding, and support
of additional color spaces. H.264 is perhaps best known as being one of
the codec standards for Blu-ray Discs; all Blu-ray Disc players must be
able to decode H.264.
What is Android?
Android is a Linux-based mobile phone operating system developed by Google.
Android is unique because Google is actively developing the platform but
giving it away for free to hardware manufacturers and phone carriers who
want to use Android on their devices. Every day more than 1 million new
Android devices are activated worldwide. Despite its success on smartphones,
Android tablet adoption has been slow. This is primarily blamed on a chicken
or the egg situation where consumers are hesitant to buy an Android tablet
due to a lack of high quality tablet apps, but developers are hesitant
to spend time and resources developing tablet apps until there's a significant
market for them. Other factors included high prices and the dominance of
Apple's iPad. This began to change in 2012 with the release of the successful
Nexus 7 and a push by Google for developers to write better tablet apps.
Android is currently developed by Google in conjunction with the Open Handset
Alliance. Initially developed by Android Inc, whom Google financially backed
and later purchased in 2005, Android was unveiled in 2007 along with the
founding of the Open Handset Alliance, a consortium of 86 hardware, software,
and telecommunication companies devoted to advancing open standards for
mobile devices. Some devices do not include support for the Android Market
and may use an alternative market. In early 2011, Google chose to temporarily
withhold the Android source code to the tablet-only 3.0 Honeycomb release.
The reason, according to Andy Rubin in an official Android blog post, was
because Honeycomb was rushed for production of the Motorola Xoom, and they
did not want third parties creating a "really bad user experience"
by attempting to put onto smartphones a version of Android intended for
tablets. The source code was once again made available in November 2011
with the release of Android 4.0.
How to Convert H264 to Android?
- Free Download H264 to Android
Converter Software
- Install the Program by Step-by-step Instructions
- Launch H264 to Android Software
- Choose H264 Files
Click "Add Files" to choose H264 files.
Choose one or more H264 files you want to convert and then click Open.
H264 to Android Software will open H264 files and get file information
of the file such as width, height, frame rate, video bit rate, audio sample rate,
audio bit rate, audio channels, and then display the information of H264 file
at conversion list.
- Choose Output Format
There're two formats for Android device: 3GP and MP4. You can choose either one
format. Click on combo-box of output format and then choose "to Android
3GP" or "to Android MP4".
- [Optional, for advanced user]
Set Android Encoding Parameters
If you want to change Android encoding parameters such as video codec, bit rate,
frame rate, video size, aspect ratio, audio codec, and so on, please click "Options".
And then, switch to tab "Video & Audio" and choose "Android
3GP" or "Android MP4" at "Output Format",
and then set options for video and audio encoding.
The Android supports H.263 (3GP), H.264, and MPEG-4 SP codecs for video. Video
size depends on your Android device capacity. The bit rate depends on video size.
The bigger video size is, the bigger bit rate is. For example, 448 or 512 kbps
is good enough for 480x320.
- Convert H264 to Android
Click "Convert" to convert all H264 files in list to Android
3GP or Android MP4 format.
The software is converting H264 files to Android.
- Play and Browse Android Video File
When conversion completes, you can right-click converted item and choose "Play
Destination" to play the outputted Android video file; or choose "Browse
Destination Folder" to open Windows Explorer to browse the outputted Android
video file.
- Done
